  • IAS Unit 2 choice: Crowded Coasts (coastal processes and management) OR Urban Problems, Planning and Regeneration
  • IAL Unit 3: Contested Planet — atmosphere/weather, biodiversity under threat, plus chosen resource/power topics (energy security or water conflicts; superpowers or development gap)
  • IAL Unit 4: Researching Geography — topics include tectonic hazards, feeding the world, cultural diversity, and health/disease
  • IAS Unit 1 includes data response and short answers (Section A) plus essay questions (Section B).
  • IAS Unit 2 includes data response, fieldwork/research-method questions, and a fieldwork investigation choice.
  • IAL Unit 3 includes synoptic and essay questions plus a choice of data response/essay on a selected topic.
  • IAL Unit 4 is an external written exam focused on research approaches and selected themes.
